# 1419 Wayne Advances to the Finals for First Time in Program History Sophomore John Reagan scored the game winning goal in the first overtime period to give second seeded Wayne the 11-10 win over third seeded HFL. The Cougars took over the game early scoring five of the first six goals to take a 5-1 lead early in the second quarter. Garrett Ruff scored two early goals for the Cougars to set the pace. He scored with a single dodge with 7:37 remaining and off a behind the back goal (assisted by Josh Barski) with 3:13 remaining. Junior Andrew Mapstone scored two of his own in the run. |
# 1390 HFL Comes Back in Fourth Quarter for Win HFL and Hilton played a close game tonight with the Cougars winning 8-6. HFL opened up with the first goal less than one minute into play. Jonathan Roth scored with a single player drive down the left side to give the Cougars and early 1-0 lead. Two minutes later and Hilton responded. Justin Mosher drove at the cage and instead of taking a shot, he passed off to Jordan DePetres behind the cage. DePetres was already moving and came around the goal line to finish into the back of the net. |

Penn Yan scored their winning goal in the last quater as they defeated Westhill (Section 3) 5-4. Senior midfielder Austin Blumbergs led the Mustangs with four goals and sophomore goalie Jeff Kinyon made twelve saves (75%). Thomas used a goal in the last five minutes of the game to defeat Fairport 11-10 and Patrick Shanley scored an unassisted goal in the second overtime period to give Gananda the 9-8 win at Geneva. |
# 1349 CA takes Pittsford for their 2nd OT win TUESDAY: DAY IN REVIEW: Senior midfielder Alex Burley came up big for Canandaigua, scoring the tying and winning goals to give the Braves a 7-6 win at Pittsford that saw six ties. In what can only be described as surprising, Hilton scored eight unanswered goals in the first and second periods only to give up eight goals and the 11-10 win to Penfield. Max Hoadley scored the winning goal for the Patriots with 0:02 left in regulation. Gates Chili found themselves tied with Brockport early in the third quarter and after scoring two in a row, held off a last charge by the Blue Devils to take the 6-5 win. |

# 1285 All Greater Rochester 2017 The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle announced their 2017 All-Greater Rochester Lacrosse team today. The list features the top sixteen players and a number of honorable mentions were led by Canandaigua senior Attackman, Devin Andrews who was named "Player of the Year". Andrews, who was also a US Lacrosse All-American, scored 72 goals and 47 assists this year. The SportsFive Offensive Player of the Year plans to study and play at Stony Brook next year. |

# 1256 Pal-Mac Wins First Sectional Title Pal-Mac won their first even Section Five Championship with a 16-11 win over Honeoye Falls-Lima. The Red Raiders lead for nearly the entire game. The Cougars took an early lead; however, Pal-Mac took over late in the first quarter and slowly increased their lead for the remaining three quarters. At the largest difference, the Red Raiders led by eight. In addition to the boys, Pal-Mac girls also won the Section Five Championship with a 16-5 win over Penn Yan (HERE). |

Joe post was 21-26 at the draw and added 11 ground balls for CA. Geneva (8-4) held Penn Yan (6-7) scoreless in the second half in their 5-1 victory this afternoon. Geneva goalie Jacob Drennen recorded 24 saves for an amazing 96% while Sam Miller led the offense with 1g-3a. |

Spencerport took their record to 5-0 with their win over Eastridge who played a close half (8-6). Jonathan Agness led the Rangers with 3g-6a. Andrew Doktor recorded 4g for the Lancers. Note: Victor (4-0) is also undefeated. |

# 658 Sweetlax Freshman Take Inside Lacrosse Invitational The Sweetlax Lacrosse Club sent a rising freshman team to the Inside Lacrosse Invitational Recruiting Tournament where they went 6-0 and took first place. The tournament, held at Goucher College (Baltimore, MD), was held from July 20-22. Sweetlax outscored opponents 75-25, allowed no more than seven goals against. The closed game, against FLG 2019 was 9-5. |
# 603 HFL 11 - Schroeder 10 in Overtime NOTES: Sophomore Jon Roth scored the game winning goal two minutes into the first overtime period to secure HF-L`s 11-10 victor over Webster Schroeder. The Cougars lost the overtime face off, but strong defensive play allowed them to hold off any shots from the Warriors and take control of the ball. |
# 538 Churchville-Chili 16 - HF-L 13 Churchville-Chili scored three of the last four to secure the 16-13 win over HF-L and at 8-0 remains one of only four undefeated teams left in the section. The Saints played strong in the beginning and end of the game but, in what has become a pattern, they could not pull away from their opponents and allowed HF-L to stay in the game well into the second half. The Cougars led going into the second half before Churchville-Chili outscored them 7-3 in the second 24 minutes. |
# 504 Cougars Beat Spencerport HF-L took the lead in the second quarter and never trailed again in their 15-12 win over Spencerport. This is the first loss for Spencerport in the last seven games. The game was back and forth in the first quarter and even though the Cougars kept the lead for three quarters, the game was close throughout. |

Senior defenseman Jared Conners (Pittsford), midfielder/Face off specialtis T.D. Ierlan (Victor), midfielder Ryan Maloney (Victor) and midfielder Jamie Trimboli (Victor) were named US Lacrosse All Americans from Monroe County. |
